All encryption products for use by the military are required to pass several rigorous tests and and be certified by accredited laboratories. Protecting sensitive data is a serious concern to the military and governmental bodies, and these certificates confirm that the process of being approved by the military is extensive and exclusive. [hiddn] has achieved both FIPS and CC certifications, at the highest commercially viable level for a hardware Full Disk Encryption product.

Common Criteria Level 4+

In December 2005, HDD SecureD (now [hiddn]) was awarded "Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 4" certification. The Common Criteria defines concepts and principles of IT security evaluation that meet the needs of governments across the industrialized world.

To further strengthen the design and documentation of the technology, HDD SecureD achieved, in October 2006, Common Criteria EAL 4+, augmented with AVA_VLA 3 (Extended Vulnerability Analysis performed by US the National Security Agency).

FIPS 140-2 Level 3

In November 2005, the [hiddn] technology achieved FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification. FIPS 140-2 defines requirements and standards by the US government for cryptography modules to protect SBU information. In November 2006, the [hiddn] technology was enhanced and re-evaluted, achieving its second FIPS certificate.

BEGRENSET / NATO RESTRICTED

To underline the importance evaluations by officially accredited laboriatories have in the market for military and official data protection hardware, we continuously strive towards achieving further approvals of our technology. To mark this, HDD [hiddn] was approved for protection of data classified “NATO RESTRICTED” and “BEGRENSET” in September 2008. NSM is the Norwegian National Security Authority, and the evaluation includes approval for Norwegian and NATO military forces to use [hiddn] for the protection of classified information.
